See local candidates at upcoming forums

Election day is quickly approaching! It’s time for Warren County residents to engage with their local candidates. Several upcoming events will give voters an opportunity to see the candidates that are running to represent them in local government.

Brooke Boden

On October 1, there will be a forum at Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola at 7pm. This forum will feature state representative Brooke Boden. The incumbent representative will square off against the Democrat challenger, Spencer Waugh, an educator at Simpson College in Indianola. The forum will also feature candidates for the county’s Board of Supervisors, Travis DeWitt, Stephanie Erickson, and Crystal McIntyre.

Then, on October 8, a second forum will be held in Norwalk. At the time of this article’s publication, the exact location had not been determined. The forum will include candidates running to replace retiring state representative Stan Gustafson in District 22. Republican candidate Samantha Fett is running against Democrat Rory Taylor. Supervisor candidates Brian Arnold and Aaron DeKock will also be present.

Samanthan Fett

Both forums are hosted by the Independent Advocate. Questions for any of the candidates can be submitted here. Questions must be submitted by September 25th.

These forums give Warren County residents an opportunity to get to know the candidates better. It also gives conservatives an opportunity to support candidates that align with their values.
