State Senator Julian Garrett passed away on Monday, leaving behind many friends and family and a legacy of service to his community.

Julian was born on November 7, 1940, in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Pella High School. He then graduated from Central College and received a law degree from the University of Iowa School of Law.
Known for his patriotic service to his community, Garrett served in both the Iowa House of Representatives and the Iowa Senate.
Due to declining health, Julian Garret had already determined not to run for reelection this November.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7pm on Friday, June 19, at Overton Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at the same location at 1pm on Saturday, June 20.
Memorials in memory of Julian may be given to the Indianola Little League.
Warren County residents grieve for Julian’s family and remember his legacy of service.
