   As some points of additional information, Julian graduated from the University of Iowa Law School in 1967 and was admitted to the practice of law in Iowa that same year. According to Martindale Hubbell, the premier rating service for attorneys, based on reviews of his peers, Julian received a “Distinguished” rating, which Martindale Hubbell describes as follows: “This rating indicates the attorney is widely respected by their peers for high professional achievement and ethical standards.” Amen to that! I knew Julian for years due to my involvement in Republican politics. I respect and admire him due to his character and his commitment to our state and federal constitutions and his love for our state and country. He was a kind and decent man. I am honored to have supported him and to say he was my friend. When he crossed into eternal life, I know he heard the words “Well done, thy good and faithful servant.” Due to the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ, and Julian’s acceptance of our Lord’s free gift of forgiveness of sins, we know that Julian now celebrates the victory over death with our Lord. His body sleeps, but his soul lives with our Lord in heaven. Please note that the Bible verse below does not say we do not grieve, but that we do not grieve in the same way as those who are without hope: 13. But we would not have you ignorant, brethren, concerning those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.14. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15. For this we declare to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, shall not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the archangel’s call, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first: 17. then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we shall always be with the Lord. 18. Therefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18.
