Warren’s Voice was started just over a year ago. We built our entire brand on focusing on the local stories that other outlets ignore. As a rule we don’t cover national or even state news unless it has a direct impact on Warren County residents.
But after the terrible assassination of Charlie Kirk, we knew we had to make an exception.
Charlie’s death will be remembered as a generational event in our nation’s history. It is the single most significant political assassination in 50 years. There are millions of Americans too young to remember September 11, 2001. But they will always remember exactly where they were on September 10, 2025.
So that’s why we knew we had to talk about it.
But true to our name, we talked about it in a way that gave Warren County a voice. Your neighbors weighed in this important moment.
Don Bohlken thoroughly documented the violent rhetoric coming out of liberal politicians.
I tried to examine some of the root causes of this dark political violence. I talked about the dangers of the victim mindset and how rejecting truth inevitably leads to violence.
Moreover, we didn’t want to just rant. We channelled our anger into action, providing some practical ways for you to fight back.
But in providing this big picture commentary, we did not abandon our local focus. We publicized local vigils for Charlie Kirk. These vigils surpassed turnout expectations.
We’re very honored to highlight Charlie’s legacy.
