Steen, a former member of Gov. Reynolds’ cabinet, received a warm welcome in his hometown of Indianola. He spoke at the Warren County Republican Central Committee meeting which was held at Indianola First Assembly of God Church.

The candidate for governor described his call to higher leadership and outlined his policy priorities. A former businessman, he promised to bring a “business” and “common sense” mindset to the office of governor, which he described as the “CEO of Iowa”.

Repeatedly, Adam Steen referred to the race as a “battle between good and evil.” He took multiple shots at the leading Democrat candidate Rob Sand, warning that if someone like Sand became governor, Iowa would become like Minnesota.

His remarks were met with general approval by the crowd in Indianola.

Steen faces a Republican primary on June 2. The general election will be held on November 3.
