Charlie’s death will be remembered as a generational event in our nation’s history. It is the single most significant political assassination in 50 years. There are millions of Americans who are too young to remember September 11, 2001. But they will always remember exactly where they were on September 10, 2025.
As an outspoken Christian, Kirk’s death was especially felt by the nation’s faith community. Charlie’s last name means “church” and the American church seemed to take his murder as an attack against all of them. The killer was aiming at the whole body of Christ.
But, the church is not killed so easily. Many churches are reporting new interest and attendance. Though the final results are not yet clear, this may be remembered as the Kirk Revival.
