By Hollie Zajicek, Republican Candidate for Iowa Senate District 11
My top priorities include strengthening Iowa’s economy, creating high-quality jobs, lowering the cost of living, and ensuring our children and grandchildren can build successful futures here in Iowa. They shouldn’t feel the need to leave the state because there aren’t enough career opportunities to choose from.

I believe in free-market principles, not government subsidizing efforts indefinitely. We should reduce unnecessary regulations, lower tax burdens, encourage entrepreneurship, and support
responsible growth in agriculture, manufacturing, technology, energy, and small businesses.
Expanding our commercial and industrial tax base is how we financially support schools, infrastructure, and public safety while reducing pressure on residential property taxpayers.
Lower Taxes and Accountable Government
Iowans work too hard to see an ever-increasing share of their earnings consumed by the government!
I support meaningful property tax relief, responsible state budgeting, eliminating waste and duplication, and greater transparency in government spending.
Taxpayers deserve to know where their money goes and whether public programs are delivering measurable results.
Property tax reform must also recognize the importance of essential local services, including law enforcement, fire protection, emergency medical services, and schools. Local control is key. Cities, counties, and local school districts should not be controlled, or told how to manage their own communities, funds, services, or projects by the state or federal government.
Government should live within its means, just as Iowa families and businesses must do
every day.
Education, Parents, and Opportunity
Every Iowa child deserves an excellent education. I support strong public schools, parental rights, school choice, and high academic standards.
We should prioritize literacy, mathematics, science, history, and practical skills while reducing unnecessary administrative mandates that divert resources from classrooms.
I also support STEM programs, expanding career and technical education, apprenticeships, and
partnerships with employers to better prepare students for good-paying careers.
Parents should remain the primary decision-makers in their children's upbringing and education.
Agriculture, Property Rights, and Rural Communities
Agriculture is one of the most important drivers of Iowa's economy. I will support our farmers, family farms, and rural businesses while encouraging innovation, conservation, and responsible stewardship of our land and water.
I also strongly believe in protecting private property rights and limiting the government’s use of eminent domain to legitimate public purposes.
Our farmers and rural communities deserve a strong voice in the Legislature.
Water Quality, Cancer, and Healthcare
Iowa’s cancer rates and water quality concerns deserve serious, science-based attention—not
political finger-pointing. Many great initiatives and fundings sources have recently been
activated in Iowa, and if we work together to expand these efforts, solutions will shortly follow.
I support continued research, prevention, early detection, improved water monitoring, and
partnerships among universities, healthcare providers, agriculture, and government to identify
effective solutions.
Access to quality healthcare close to home is equally important. I recently met with leadership at
local clinics and the Knoxville Hospital & Clinics to better understand the pressures facing rural hospitals, including workforce shortages, rising costs, and reimbursement challenges.
I will support efforts to protect rural healthcare access, strengthen the healthcare workforce, and
help essential medical providers remain viable.
Public Safety, Military, Veterans, and Constitutional Rights
Growing up in and currently serving as part of an active military family, I have a deep appreciation for those who serve and protect our freedoms. I strongly support law enforcement,
firefighters, emergency medical personnel, military members, veterans, and their families.
I am pro-life, a strong defender of the Second Amendment, and committed to protecting religious liberty, free speech, parental rights, private property rights, and due process.
I also believe in secure elections, local control, and a government that respects the constitutional limits of its authority. Nothing is more critical to a free, civil, and legitimate society than legal and secure elections. Ask people from Venezuela, Cuba, Iran, China, and many others about their experiences. American principals must be fiercely defended.
My Commitment to You
If elected, I will bring nearly two decades of hands-on experience, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to accountable government to the Iowa Senate.
I believe elected officials should listen to their constituents, respect differing opinions, and make decisions based on constitutional principles, sound fiscal policy, and the long-term interests of the people they serve.
I want Iowa to remain a place where families can afford to live, businesses can grow, farmers can thrive, children can receive an excellent education, and the next generation has every opportunity to achieve the American Dream. There’s always room for improvement, and we all want the cost of living to be lower. I’ve lived in several other states and spent time in other countries. I know Iowa is in a much, much better position than so many other places. We need to protect that and continue to make improvements to our economy.
If you have not voted yet- I ask that you vote based on experience, values, and fundamental beliefs in our core American principals, not on political or emotional ploys.
Serving the government (the people) is a serious job and takes people who are strong, focused, and base their decisions on doing what’s right. Not what’s easy, popular in the moment,
emotionally driven, or socially acceptable.
Many candidates today shift their talking points and persona to what they think will gather the most votes. They aren’t being truthful as to who they really are and what they stand for.
We clearly see what is happening in places like France, Italy, the UK, Minnesota, Portland, LA, New York, Chicago, and many other places due to bad political decisions, and socialist ideology.
A society can collapse quicker than we think, and it can happen in Iowa, if we let it.
Don’t vote based on rumors, or false claims opponents make on one another. Unfortunately, some very dishonest statements have been made many times about me, what I support, and even whole industries in Iowa- by my opposition. Thankfully, the facts do exist, and I’m happy to
share those with anyone seeking the truth.
I’m proud to say that I don’t need to be dishonest about my opponent and I will not do that- ever.
My track record of improving communities, lives, and the economy, along with my experience, faith, and core values are enough to continue doing the right things for our people and our state.
But you- the voter, will decide who gets elected.
My commitment is to work toward a stronger economy, lower taxes, safer communities, greater opportunity, and a government that serves the people—not the other way around.
I’m a patriot who loves our people, our state, and our great nation. I’d be honored to earn your
vote and continue working hard every day to improve all our lives. God bless.
