An Iowa author went to the United States Capitol to pray. What followed was arrest, imprisonment, and a “life turned upside down”. Now, Leo Kelly is coming to Indianola to share his story of hope and overcoming difficulty.

Leo Kelly is the author of Hope From The Ashes of Jan 6. Described as “part political memoir, part spiritual testimony,” Kelly’s book is presented as a “reminder that even when circumstances feel overwhelming, there is still hope”.

In the book, Kelly describes how he went to the Capitol on January 6, 2021, “with only the intentions of praying for America alongside other like-minded individuals”. His presence at the Capitol that day would lead to a lengthy legal struggle. His book details the personal struggle and how he found hope.
Leo Kelly will be coming to Indianola on August 22 for the Warren County Republican Fundraiser. It will be held at the Indianola Activity Center located at 2204 W 2nd Ave.
The event goes from 5pm to 8pm. Doors open at 4:45pm.
There will be a live and silent auction as well as pulled pork and sides
