Despite much outrage and some misbehavior<\/a> by radical activists, The Sex and Gender Clarity Act passed the Iowa General Assembly and awaits a signature from Gov. Kim Reynolds.The law would define \u201cmale\u201d and \u201cfemale\u201d and remove \u201cgender identity\u201d language from Iowa\u2019s civil rights code.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bill passed the Iowa Senate along party lines. In the Iowa House, five Republicans defected and voted with the Democrats on the side of the radical transgender agenda. One Republican abstained from voting. Both of Warren County\u2019s representatives, Brooke Boden and Samantha Fett, voted in favor of the bill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday\u2019s public hearing provided a clear contrast. Many Iowans, including several Warren County residents, spoke in favor of the bill. With few exceptions, they spoke in measured tones as they presented valid arguments for why the bill would benefit Iowa. As a rule, the opposition\u2019s statements were comprised almost entirely of strong emotions, subjective anecdotes, name calling, and the occasional threat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Iowa is the first state to remove \u201cgender identity\u201d language from its civil rights coding after previously adding it, setting an example for other states to repeal the transgender agenda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
