I love Des Moines. I enjoy the shops, restaurants, and attractions. All my memories from childhood and early married years are tied to Iowa\u2019s capital city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, you\u2019d think I would be reluctant to leave. But as my family grew, I knew it was time. And I couldn\u2019t be more excited!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city I grew up in has changed. I will not allow my kids to ride their bikes in the areas I grew up riding my bike. Crime, while always present, has gotten out of control. Especially in recent years, many businesses, shops, and even government buildings think it\u2019s necessary to plaster their buildings with symbols and messages that make it clear that people with my values aren\u2019t welcomed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are many factors for Des Moines\u2019 recent dysfunction. But the fact that it\u2019s been under Democratic control for as long as I can remember certainly contributes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So that\u2019s why I bought a fixer-upper and moved my family to Indianola. It was one of the best decisions I\u2019ve ever made.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love the authentic community found in Warren County. I love <a href=\"https:\/\/warrens-voice.com\/?cat=43\">all the businesses<\/a> doing their part to uphold our economy and our values. I love the <a href=\"https:\/\/warrens-voice.com\/?p=532\">faith community<\/a> that\u2019s here. I love that I can raise my children in an environment that is pulling the same direction I am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s one of the reasons I started Warren\u2019s Voice.
