As predicted, the race for Iowa District 1 remains very close. Dr. Mariannette Miller-Meeks, the Republican incumbent, is no stranger to close victories. She appears to be poised to, once again, narrowly keep her seat in the United States House of Representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most news outlets are still not calling this race. However, with 97% of votes reporting, Miller-Meeks leads her Democrat opponent Christina Bohannan by over 400 votes. While the race will likely go to a recount, conservatives have reason to be cautiously optimistic that District 1 will remain red.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If MMM is re-elected, Iowa will send all four Republican congresspeople back to the U.S. House. With control of the House still uncertain, the outcome of the District 1 race could be very important in maintaining a Republican majority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
