Many Iowa Democratic Party candidates are running stealth campaigns, providing no or few clear, specific answers to where they stand on the issues. Therefore, voters need to refer to the Iowa Democratic Party platform to determine where that party stands. The platform planks are quoted below, with explanatory notes in brackets. There are also summaries providing insight into the platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WOMEN AND GIRLS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 Iowa Democratic Party Platform has pluses and minuses for women and girls. In the minus column we find a complete surrender of Title IX protections for women and girls from unfair competition with gender confused men and from invasion of their private spaces by men. This is done by valuing protections for gender confused men over the protections for women. As recently as 2020, the Department of Justice recognized that the intent of Title IX was to enforce the above noted protections of women against competition with gender confused men and for their privacy. That was ended with the new Title IX rules promulgated by the Biden Harris Administration. Fortunately, these rules are now being stopped by the courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. \u201cEnforcing Title-IX protections against gender-identity discrimination.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \u201cSport participation aligning with students\u2019 gender-identity.\u201d [Men in girls\u2019 sports].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. \u201cBathroom choice based on student gender-identification.\u201d [Men in girls\u2019 bathrooms. Result in Loudon County, Virginia: 2 raped female students].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. \u201cGender identity-oriented placement of detainees.\u201d [Men in women\u2019s prisons. Now happening in California. Result: pregnancies and rapes].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. \u201cSport participation aligning with students\u2019 gender-identity.\u201d [Men in girls sports \/ locker rooms].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. \u201cThe right of persons to use public facilities which align with their gender identity.\u201d [Men in women\u2019s restrooms].<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    There is one plus. It appears that the Iowa Democratic Party believes the following plank provides a new lawful and rewarding career path for women and girls:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. \u201cEnding penalties for sex work.\u201d [Legal prostitution]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      UNBORN BABIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

      The Iowa Democratic Party platform does not recognize any rights for unborn babies or that abortion kills them. Unborn babies are in the same position as Black people under the Dred Scott decision, i.e. they have no rights worthy of respect. Other than the phrase \u201cFetal personhood laws\u201d, unborn babies are never even mentioned in the platform planks on abortion. The planks mention no limits on abortion whatsoever, even to the end of the ninth month. Government funding for abortion is supported. Government funding for pro life crisis pregnancy centers is prohibited. Requiring ultrasounds, which may influence a mother to not kill her child, is prohibited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        6. \u201cRequiring admitting privileges for abortion providers.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        7. \u201cTransvaginal ultrasound preceding abortion.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        8. \u201cPublic funding for CPCs\u201d. [Pro life Crisis Pregnancy Centers].<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

          FIREARMS OWNERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

          It appears that, under the platform, firearms owners are in the same position as unborn babies, they have no rights which are entitled to respect. The Second Amendment is not even mentioned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          1. \u201cUniversal background checks\/waiting periods.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. \u201cTraining\/proficiency requirements.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          3. \u201cMental health screenings.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          4. \u201cERPOs.\u201d [Red Flag laws. Confiscate your gun based on suspicion].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          5. \u201cIncluding \u201cno-fly\u201d list members . . . as Prohibited Persons.\u201d [Inaccurate List]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          6. \u201cRegistering all gun sales.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          7. \u201cPurchase logs for ammunition.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n

            1. Stand-Your-Ground. [Allows for effective self-defense].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Open carry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. \u201cStrict Scrutiny\u201d. [This refers to opposing the Iowa keep and bear arms amendment].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            4. \u201cGhost guns.\u201d [Guns made at home without serial numbers. Done throughout our history].<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              IMMIGRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

              Do Democrats really want to secure the border? Lets see:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              \u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              1. \u201cUndocumented immigrant vehicle registration\/driver licenses after testing.\u201d [Could licenses be used for voter ID?].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              2. \u201cAll educational institutions serving as sanctuaries for undocumented students.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              3. \u201c[L]egal representation . . . for all immigrants.\u201d [Paid by our tax dollars].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              4. \u201c[L]abor-rights for all immigrants.\u201d [Immediately compete with Americans for jobs].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              5. \u201cSponsor-less Immigration.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                \u201cWe oppose:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                1. \u201cBorder walls.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                2. \u201cImmigration laws enforced by local police.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                3. \u201cLegislation requiring local jails to hold immigrants for ICE.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                4. \u201cDetaining undocumented minors.\u201d [Even to protect them?]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                5. \u201cClosing borders.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  PARENTS\u2019 RIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  Guess who doesn\u2019t have any rights to parent their own children, especially if they oppose the child\u2019s transition to the opposite sex? Who opposes homeschooling?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  \u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                  1. \u201cRequiring schools\u2019 use of students\u2019 preferred names\/pronouns.\u201d [Regardless of parent\u2019s wishes?].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  2. \u201cRepealing Iowa Code sections: \u00a7232.68(2)(a)(4)(c) child abuse\/neglect prosecutions [Providing a limited exception for refusal of medical care for religious reasons].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  3. \u201cRepealing Iowa Code sections: . . . \u00a7237A.1(2)(b) religion-based exemptions from childcare
                    regulations.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                    3. \u201cRequiring credentialed supervision for home-schooled students.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    4. \u201cHomeschooling foster children.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    5. \u201cUsing tax-dollars to fund PreK-14 private-schools.\u201d [Stopping parents from choosing private schools that better educate their children. Why stop at private PreK-14 schools? Spencer Waugh, Democrat candidate for Iowa House District 21 works for a college receiving tax dollars.].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    6. \u201cBanning books\/literary resources & suppressing academic discourse.\u201d [Including grooming, sexually explicit materials, racist Critical Race Theory?].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                    7. \u201cMandatory pre-publication of comprehensive curriculum materials.\u201d [Why can\u2019t parents know these materials?].<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                      FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND RELIGION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                      \u201cWe oppose:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        \n
                      1. \u201cReligious bias, including clergy in schools. [Isn’t opposing clergy in schools an example of religious bias, not opposition to religious bias?]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      2. \u201cSchool-sanctioned religious practice.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      3. \u201cSanctioning\/endorsing any group\/club recognized by the SPLC as a hate
                        group.\u201d [SPLC paid out millions in defamation settlements, inspired an attempted mass shooting at the Family Research Council, and labeled Ben Carson an \u201cextremist\u201d].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      4. \u201cRFRA <\/a>as passed by the Iowa legislature.\u201d [Religious Freedom Restoration Act].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      5. \u201cChaplains in public schools.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      6. \u201cGovernment-funded religious-based therapies.\u201d [Including addiction therapies that work?]<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                        ISRAEL<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        The platform planks are overwhelmingly anti-Israel and pro-\u201dPalestinian\u201d, which means Hamas as long as Hamas is the representative of Palestinians. No condemnation of Hamas or Hezbollah or any mention of the brutal genocidal October 7, 2023 attack by Hamas on Israel, except for a vague mention of \u201creturn of hostages\/detainees\u201d which puts hostages held by Hamas on the same moral ground as detained terrorists held by Israel. A moral equivalency, at best, between Israel and Hamas \u201cPalestinians\u201d is implied. From this platform, you would think Israel was our enemy, not our ally. The only mention of Iran is restoration of the nuclear agreement with Iran, which was terminated by Trump.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                        \u201cWe support:\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                          \n
                        1. \u201cPalestinians\/Israelis security\/democracy\/equal-rights.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        2. \u201cImmediate permanent ceasefire, return of hostages\/detainees\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        3. \u201cPalestinian Self-determination\/nationhood.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        4. \u201cPalestinian refugees\u2019 Right of Return\/just compensation.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        5. \u201cAutomatic political asylum for Palestinians.\u201d [In the U.S.?].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        6. \u201cFull Palestinian UN membership.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        7. \u201cMoving the US embassy to Tel Aviv.\u201d [From Jerusalem? Why?].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        8. \u201cReopening East Jerusalem US consulate to Palestinians\/Washington, D.C.\u2019s PA office.\u201d [Palestinian Authority].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        9. \u201cEnsuring Palestinian civilians\u2019 safety.\u201d [And Israeli citizens?]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        10. \u201cAn end to all military aid and arms sales to Israel until the following conditions are met: a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, the expulsion of illegal Jewish settlements and full compliance with the Oslo Accords.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        11. \u201cIsrael\/US compliance with international law.\u201d [And Hamas\/Hezbollah\/Iran compliance?]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        12. \u201cAIPAC FARA registration.\u201d [American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Foreign Agents Registration Act.]<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                        13. \u201cSwiftly rebuilding Gaza, especially hospitals.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n

                              2. \u201cUsing law enforcement against non-violent protest encampments and sit-ins.\u201d [You can\u2019t use police to remove protesters from schools, businesses, and government offices].<\/li>\n\n\n\n
