It protects mass shooters by opposing any guns in schools for teachers or police. Incredibly, they want police totally out of schools! The Democrats kept their platform secret from the public. A whistleblower at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bleedingheartland.com\">www.bleedingheartland.com<\/a> recently outed it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are so pro-criminal that they want to eliminate long standing Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws. Repeal of these laws would mean you have to retreat from criminal attack both when you are in your home and outside it. This places the defender in a situation where they may be shot while attempting retreat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Democrats attack Second Amendment rights by burdensome regulations like expensive education, testing, and liability insurance requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">2026 Iowa Democratic Party Planks on Firearms:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe oppose: . . .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">257. Guns on school-grounds including employees\/SROs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">258. SROs being stationed inside schools. (SROs are police school<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">resource officers).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gun Safety<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We support:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">332. Banning assault-style rifles\/high-capacity magazines\/automatic weapon kits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">333. BCE\/FERPO Acts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">334. Gun violence prevention programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">335. Requiring recurring firearms-education\/competency-testing\/ liability-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">insurance\/ safe-storage\/ reporting lost\/stolen weaponry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">336. But Sand says he likes gun control, prefers a \u201cmay issue\u201d concealed weapons permit system, supports universal background checks, and claimed that ending the state handgun purchase background check \u201cwill get Iowans killed\u201d.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Firearms homicides were reduced after the check was eliminated. A \u201cmay issue\u201d permit system would restrict the right to bear concealed arms to those whom the sheriff favors. It would destroy decades of fighting to restore our right to bear arms. Universal background checks make you a criminal if you buy a gun from a cousin or a friend. On Simon Conway\u2019s WHO Radio show, Rob Sand did say he supported Red Flag laws. But, Sand had no problem with AR-15s, magazines and suppressors.
