Voters have the right to know what their candidates believe and what policies they would support. But how can they if there\u2019s no transparency from the candidates themselves?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

pencer Waugh is running (again<\/a>) to upset Rep. Brooke Boden<\/a> for a seat in the Iowa House. In a highly conservative area, Democrats find it necessary to hide any liberal positions they may adhere to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps this is why much of Waugh\u2019s public statements amount to anemic sloganeering absent of substance or specificity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Look for example at some statements from his campaign website<\/a> and see if you can identify a single particular policy position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I support tax incentives that build Iowa up: helping small businesses grow, creating local jobs, and keeping new graduates here. Not lining the pockets of millionaires.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Notice the complete lack of specificity. Every Iowan desires business growth, local jobs, and graduate retention. Waugh\u2019s problem is that his opponent, the incumbent Brooke Boden, is already working hard to accomplish those objectives. It\u2019s unclear why we need to elect Spencer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
