Trust Iowa Democrats?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their constitution<\/a> and state law<\/a> require Democrats to adopt a platform at their convention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six weeks after their convention, the 2026 Democratic Platform is still unpublished online<\/a>.\u00a0 Only the 2024 platform is shown. The 2026\u00a0 Republican platform<\/a> has been up for weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last May, Iowa Democrat chair Rita Hart called for a \u201csecure border\u201d<\/a> and wrote allowing everyone to enter would be a \u201cdetriment to Iowa and to the country.\u201c <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Their 2024 platform, however, opposed border walls <\/a>and closed borders, mandated drivers licenses, legal representation, schools as sanctuaries for immigrants and abolishing immigration quotas and ICE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Iowa Democratic Party allows \u201cAll non-citizens who will not be naturalized and therefore not eligible to vote in the next General Election, who reside in the state of Iowa, . . . to participate as full party members except as restricted by Iowa law.\u201d <\/a> No exception for illegal aliens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the Democratic Socialists of America, incubator of the new crop of Democratic Party leaders,\u00a0 has issued their platform. <\/a>\u00a0It provides \u201cLegalize migration, grant amnesty for all immigrants regardless of status, provide a path to citizenship for all permanent residents, and end visa caps and quotas\u201d\u00a0 as well as \u201c[e]xtend full voting rights to all permanent U.S. residents.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s the tip of a socialist iceberg. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, can we trust Rita Hart?  What does their 2026 platform say? What is their real position on immigration and other issues? Why won\u2019t they show us?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can you trust Democrats describing Republican gubernatorial candidate Zach Lahn as a \u201cKansan\u201d<\/a>?  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does anyone believe that if you leave Iowa, return, buy and live at your ancestral Iowa family farm, but also own a house in Kansas and dare to visit your minor children there, that you are a \u201cKansan\u201d<\/a>?  Are Democrats telling our children and grandchildren that, if they leave Iowa, they must never return?  Should they return, must they be labeled as citizens of another state, if they fly there to visit their children or to take their children to Iowa to visit? Don\u2019t Democrats want Iowans who are divorced or separated to visit their children? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And why does Iowademocrats.org state \u201cLahn spends more time in Kansas than Iowa\u201d <\/a>when the linked Register article shows the opposite is true<\/a>?  Lahn actually spends more time in Iowa than in Kansas. Not only did the article quote Lahn, stating, \u201cI’m in Iowa the majority of the time, a tremendous amount of time,” but the article\u2019s recitation of his flight records showed that was true. Why let the truth ruin a nasty campaign attack where a father who visits his children is called a \u201cKansas carpetbagger\u201d? <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n
