On 10\/12\/24, Maggie Melville wrote in the Indianola Independent Advocate<\/em>, \u201c(Spencer) Waugh\u2019s views are definitely liberal views with favoring abortions\u2026.Why are we seeing a fetus as part of a woman\u2019s body when that fetus will become another human being. Do you kill kittens or puppies when you do not want any more dogs or cats?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinikka Waugh responded: \u201cFirst, on the subject of killing babies (or kittens or puppies) let me be a abundantly clear: Spencer Waugh does not advocate for murder, infanticide or killing small animals\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinikka\u2019s response wasn\u2019t \u201cclear\u201d at all. The issue was abortion. Instead of a straightforward answer addressing the issue of abortion, Sinikka addressed \u201cmurder, infanticide, or killing small animals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lawful abortion is an exception to the murder statutes. Infanticide refers to the killing of an infant after it is born alive. The killing of small animals was only raised to ask why people would approve of the killing of an unwanted unborn child when they would not approve the killing of an animal for the same reasons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One can \u201cnot advocate for murder, infanticide or killing small animals\u201d while still being a strong advocate for legal abortion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An \u201cabundantly clear\u201d answer would have specified the circumstances under which Spencer Waugh supported lawful abortion and why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We can expect similar stealth campaigns from the Waughs this year. If you want clarity instead of obfuscation, straight talk instead of double talk, common sense conservatives instead of a liberal dynasty representing you, vote Republican!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
