Brad Ross drew attention at last week\u2019s candidate forum<\/a> by holding up a handmade sign displaying the city of Indianola\u2019s budgetary issues. Meet the candidate who\u2019s promising to bring business sense back to the city council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A candidate for Indianola\u2019s Ward 2, Ross told Warren\u2019s Voice that his top priorities were public safety, finding a solution to the city\u2019s library problem<\/a>, and \u201crestoring fiscal responsibility\u201d. Fiscal responsibility is a theme Brad Ross has returned to many times. He said he would, \u201cview the city council like that of a business”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the forum, Ross expressed his concern that the city\u2019s spending practices would leave Indianola without appropriate reserves, famously noting that there was \u201c$4 million that\u2019s unaccounted for\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ross told Warren\u2019s Voice, \u201cA community needs a healthy reserve for unforeseen emergencies and funds earmarked for capital improvements,\u201d and that the current reserve is depleted \u201cto dangerously concerning levels.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before each meeting, Brad Ross bows his head and prays, \u201cDear Lord, give me strength and understanding. Amen.\u201d Ross hopes to bring both strength and understanding to the Indianola City Council.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
