The convention was attended by more than 900 long-term care administrators, owners, nurses, dietary, activity, environmental and social services professionals, as well as businesses working with the long-term care profession from across Iowa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>State legislators recognized included Speaker of the House Pat Grassley, House Majority Leader Bobby Kaufmann, Representative Gary Mohr, Representative Ann Meyer, Representative Jane Bloomingdale, Representative Brooke Boden, Representative Heather Hora, Representative Hans Wilz, Representative Brett Barker, Senate Majority Leader Jack Whitver, Senate President Amy Sinclair, Senator Tim Kraayenbrink, Senator Kevin Alons, Senator Kara Warme, Senator Mark Costello, and Senator Mike Bousselot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese legislators have demonstrated a genuine commitment to Iowans in need of long-term care. They clearly understand that continued access to long-term care services for Iowans is dependent upon adequate funding, an effective and efficient regulatory environment and a well-trained workforce,\u201d said Brent Willett, IHCA president and CEO. \u201cWe appreciate working with these elected officials and our state agencies to develop solutions to issues so vital to providing the highest quality for Iowans. We want to thank them for their service in support of caring for Iowa\u2019s vulnerable and elderly.\u201d<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IHCA represents organizations that provide long-term care to Iowans through nursing facilities, assisted living, residential care, senior living communities, home health agencies, home care and care continuum communities. IHCA is affiliated with American Health Care Association, National Center for Assisted Living and National Association for Home Care and Hospice.
