Donald Trump has faced many challenges to retaking the presidency: a difficult election cycle, multiple investigations and indictments, a felony conviction, and (in case you forgot) a literal bullet. Last night, the former president faced a debate that many people are describing as three-against-one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Last night, President Trump debated <\/a>Vice President Kamala Harris in their first and possibly only debate. Many noticed<\/a> that the moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis of ABC News, appeared to show a strong bias for the current vice president and against Donald Trump. The moderators repeatedly challenged, interrupted, \u201cfact-checked\u201d, and pressed the 45th President without giving the same treatment to Harris<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The evening frustrated many Trump supporters, including Republicans and Trump-backers in Warren County. Donald Bohlken, an attorney from Indianola, said, \u201cThis debate illustrates the hazards of going into a debate sponsored by a network which has had 100% favorable coverage of Kamala Harris and 93% unfavorable coverage for Donald Trump.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bohlken acknowledged that Donald Trump also missed opportunities during the debate: \u201cTrump also took the bait on points made by Harris, such as the rally comment. Trump underestimated his opponent and the level of bias by ABC. He didn’t stick to the topic or prosecute his opponent effectively.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is unclear how much impact the debate will have on the presidential race, which remains very close nationally. Regardless of its ultimate impact, the debate last night served as a reminder of the stakes in this election and the current climate of American media and politics.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
